I feel like in life we are given many chances to start over. Whether it be going to a new school, moving to a new place, given a new friend, a new calling, or even just a new day. We are given so many chances to change who we are. It's interesting to me to see how many people actually take advantage of those opportunities.

I've seen people change for the worse and change for the better. But worst of all is when some don't go through any change at all. Changing for the worse is sometimes a good thing, because eventually you learn lessons from your poor choices, causing a dramatic turn-around in your lifestyle for the better, never to go back. But no change? Which direction do you head then?

Jared said it in a good way. I was singing "Just the Way You Are" by Bruno Mars. He, never having heard the song before (RM), was appalled at the lyrics: "When I see your face, there's not a thing that I would change because you're amazing just the way you are."

"Why would you ever want your girlfriend or wife to stay the same?" He said. "I would hope that because of me my wife always strives to change, and because of her I would want to change. That's the only way we become better, right?"

The new opportunities give way to all 3 of these options: changing for the better, worse, or staying the same. A choice must be made as to which direction should be taken. With a brand new clean slate, there is nothing to get in the way; nothing to force you which direction to go. It's all up to you. You have a vision in your head of who you want to be? Go for it. Nothing from your past is going to get in your way, unless you let it.

So Suzie, my question for you is this: do you feel you have changed since you've moved to Hawaii? And if I end up at USU, what's the best way for me to go about changing who I am? Because personally, I would love a new self for myself.

Actually, I kind of need it. A new self. No matter where I end up.

Oh my goodness, beheaded chess figures!

Our cousin Andrea told me to put that as the post title. Remember her? It's because that is what is sitting on Jared's shelf right now. It's from Guatemala.

Right now we are all in Jared's room. Allyson, Jenny, Whitney, Andrea, Amanda, James, Jared and I. We just got done with Braylin's bridal shower and tonight we are going to Kohler's to fit as many donuts in a box as we can, then we are going to stuff our faces while we watch Avatar the Last Airbender and make fun of it.

We just all miss you. And love you. That's all.

This year was actually different.

Flowers. A card made of conversation hearts. Chocolate.

The Best Friend does it again. He is one of the greatest blessings in my life and I thank the Lord every night for him.

Happy V Day. 1 day late :)

YOU DID IT!!

Everyone, I would like to announce that MY cousin, Suzanne Caesura Fluckiger, was accepted to BYU's PR program today. One of the top 5 in the nation.

I would also like to say that she totally deserved it. She has worked her tail off to get in. She's going to be incredible.

Suzie, thanks for being an example to me of dreaming big. You see something you want and you go for it, even if other people don't understand. Everything you do reminds me that I can do anything. You help me to see that no matter how hard something is it is always possible if you work for it.

"The ONLY way to get what you want is through hard work!"

Stay tuned. Her life is only about to get better.

Sometimes I feel bitter...

...toward Freshman boys.

Are you guys really so desperate to win girls' hearts over?

Please. You guys have missions to serve. Go read your scriptures.

The singing was pretty good though. I guess.

Until you find out they have done it to every other girl in Heritage. Goodnight.

Here's a super fast post for you.

My geography chapter awaits, but I just thought I would inform you about my audition.

Approximately 3 hours before I was to play, I slammed my finger in the shower door at Grandpa's. I got a gross blood blister on the tip of my left middle finger, and it hurt. Bad. Of course, something like that has to happen the morning of the audition.

It was okay though. Overall I feel good about how I played for some reason, even though I know I did not do near as well as I expected. It's okay though, because I've done everything I need to do, now everything is in the Lord's hands. Whatever is right will happen. I trust Him.

Added bonus up there in Logan? I got to hang out with my good friend Aaron for an hour. I like him. and miss him.

Also, I just need to give a shout out to my incredible roommates Claralyn and Altheda, who wrote me the kindest notes before my audition; the kindest I have ever received from anyone. Wanna know the reason I came to BYU? It's because of them. Solely. I'm glad the Lord can see into the future and see that I would need incredible girls like them. They are my heroes.

P.S. 5 days.

Apparently my life is exciting.

Nikki likes to make lists. She made one of my upcoming future life (the next 4 months).

1. Audition on Feb. 11. Yep, I'm headed to Logan this upcoming weekend.
2. Jared, my dearly beloved brother, is coming home in 10 days. nbd.
3. My bright and incredible roommate, Altheda, wrote a paper that is getting published and is presenting it in the symposium on Feb. 17th. She's the only Freshman too, and is receiving 1000 dollars for it. Disclaimer: I actually don't know that yet, but I'm pretty sure she's going to win it.
4. I am saying goodbye to BYU. Bitter-sweetness at its finest.
5. Apparently I'm getting getting a scholarship from the music school at USU. Actually, I'm just praying really hard for one.
6. My best friend is going to Florida to speak some weird language I've never heard of in my life in order to serve and bring the gospel back into the lives of the people in Ft. Lauderdale. Also bitter-sweetness at its finest.
7. The fam and I? We're taking un vacacion. A neat one. Like a Caribbean cruise or something.
8. My grandfather (and yours, Suze. Will you be here for his party?) is turning 80. The only present he has requested is that we sing his own composition of Happy Birthday to him. It's in 4-part harmony.
9. KEVIN IS GETTING MARRIED. (My cousin, Suzie's brother.) So excited for a new cousin!
10. Justin, my Norwegian cousin, is going home to Norway where he will give his 2 years. Neat-o.
11. My adorable friend Carly is getting married. Heck, all of my adorable friends are getting married. Naturally.
12. I have some pretty hot dates coming up with some of Jared's companions. Let's hope they aren't too awkward.

I guess it is pretty exciting, no? How's yours, Suze?

Meow.
